Chatham Education Foundation completed fiscal year July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 with gross receipts of $369k, the highest level in our history, up 42% from last fiscal year. This is due to $102k in donations from the new endowment campaign and continued strong contributions from annual fund donors and Casino Royale and Trivia Night events. Net assets at the end of the fiscal year were a record $570k, up 52% from the prior fiscal year. Assets include an endowment with $392k book value at the end of the fiscal year ($447k market value.) As a result of new endowment agreements and strong operating financials, the endowment has been built while maintaining significant levels of grant-giving to the school district.
For school year 2018-19 the Foundation funded 23 grants to teachers and administrators for a total of $104k, the same as the prior fiscal year:
• $39k to K-5 schools: Washington, Milton, Southern Boulevard, Lafayette
• $33k to Chatham Middle School (grades 6-8)
• $16k to Chatham High School (grades 9-12)
• $16k for school district grants, including TEDx Chatham
Grants covered a wide array of curricular areas and projects, from furniture to support 21st century learning to technology, math and science to English. A comprehensive list of grants can be found on our website. All students and educators in our school district are positively impacted by donations made to Chatham Education Foundation.
