More information about the speakers can be found at TEDxYouth@Chatham “Purpose” will again be sponsored by the Chatham Education Foundation, Colin Devlin/Keller Williams Realty, and Situation Inc.

Cheryl Whitney, the chair of the grants for the Chatham Education Foundation, presented the BOE with a check for $14,562.73, which will fund three programs - the Scientific Investigation and Collaboration Classroom for classrooms at CHS; 'Let Our Fingers Do the Poppin' for elementary school math teachers, and "Read for Pure Joy!" for struggling 6th and 7th grade ELA students.

Take a moment to think about education in the world today. We are educating a generation of students amidst the backdrop of mega advancements and crisis. Advancements such as electric vehicles, an epic rise of digitalization and technology, use of biomedicines, and recreational space travel open new frontiers for our children’s future.

On Thursday, March 10, 2022 over 450 choral students in fourth to twelfth grade participated in the School District of the Chathams Districtwide Choral Festival.

With a grant awarded by Chatham Education Foundation, the SDOC brought all the choirs in grades 4-12 together on March 10, 2022 for a full day of learning, singing, and program development.

2021-22 Grant Recap

  • "Thank you CEF for the pen tablets that you purchased for my classroom two years ago. I cannot believe how much the world (and educational system) has changed in such a short time. These tablets have been a tremendous help to our teaching staff and students. I had the opportunity to demonstrate how these tablets could enhance our instructional practice to some of the teachers in our mathematics department. It has changed how we will prepare and deliver some of our instructional components this year. Thank you again for the hard work that you do for our students, staff, and school community. Looking forward to a great school year! " - Carmelo Sortino, CHS Math Teacher
